Lynn Graduated with a B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Vermont. She completed her Dietetic Internship at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She developed a keen interest in mental health through her work with patients in hospitals and outpatient settings. She initially practiced as a Registered Dietitian at Greenville Memorial Hospital, the Life Center and St. Francis Hospital. She then obtained her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University while maintaining a thriving private practice.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered and Licensed Dietitian, Lynn specializes in helping those coping with anxiety and mood disorders, as well as eating disorders and body image problems. For over 25 years she has helped adults, teens and children overcome symptoms of these disorders through a blend of cognitive/dialectical behavioral therapy, group counseling, mindfulness techniques and experiential therapies. Lynn is very relational in her approach and feels the present moment connection with her clients is her strength in motivating towards change and self-care.
Lynn is one of the select few specialists in the Southeast both educated and experienced in nutrition and psychological counseling. This combination makes her an ideal fit for clients in need of an individualized approach. Some of her clients do NOT struggle with eating or body image problems and seek coaching assistance or life change adjustments.
Lynn strives to prevent eating disorders through early detection and community awareness. She is the co-founder of EdAware (Eating Disorders Awareness and Prevention) , a non-profit organization comprised of local mental health professionals.
